I'm still wondering what the mark near the bottom of the posted picture is? Some sort of sensor? A flaw in the image? Is it real or is it photoshop?

What extra third party content do you want? You can already sideload any supported format. You can browse cloud sites to download books. If Kobo extend the syncing to non-purchased books, it is going to be via their servers, not some third-party. About the only other thing I can think of is libraries and they are supposed to be adding OverDrive.

But maybe Tamblyn is just baiting them. Of course, he doesn't say it is coming in August, just to keep our eyes open. If Kobo follow their usual pattern, mid-August is when the announcement is with availability in September.

Having a vendor-neutral way of syncing reading positions across reader applications would be nice. Read up to x on my Kobo, continue up to y on Marvin, ...

You also have covers that will cover the screen yet will leave the back free. Besides, I only know of one device at this point that has a cover kind of integrated into the device. That a device doesn't show a cover on a teaser picture doesn't mean that a device won't be able to be put in any cover.

That won't happen. Mobius is not good enough yet. It's Pearl, lower resolution, and lower contrast. Not a good thing to go from a hi-resolution Cara screen to that.
