OpenInkpot 0.2
We're proud to release OpenInkpot 0.2, free and open source firmware for eBook devices with ePaper screens.
During the release cycle nearly every piece of code was rewritten, so it's not feasible to provide a complete changelog. Notable changes: Device support
Functionality
UI
Misc
Documentation
OpenInkpot 0.2 can be downloaded from: http://openinkpot.org/pub/releases/0.2/ Last edited by Nate the great; 12-06-2009 at 08:01 PM. |

First of all, Congratulations, you are the main reason I still recomend the V3. Thank you for all your effort.
Just one quick question, is the final 0.2 equal to rc6 or I should just upgrade? |

Would the difference just be the lack of RC6 on the version?
I'm asking because I can't find the changelog for the RC6->0.2, and both releases were quite close to each other. |

Two Questions
Thanks for a great release, I have now switched permanently to OpenInkpot.
Two questions, if I may? 1. Are there any plans to allow reading of the .lit format? 2. Are there any plans to implement direct communication to the Hanlin V3 without having to use SSH? ie plug-in and it recognizes both internal and external memory? Regards, Roger |

LocoPDF
Reading PDF books is still a nightmare and LocoPDF has a long way to go to even come close to the PDF viewers of HANLIN or LBOOK. If I need to read a PDF book that I cannot convert to Word or RTF, I install one of the other firmware versions and get back to OI once I read it. Don't know what the plans are for LocoPDF (maybe to viewer of HANLIN can be copied over to OpenInkpot..does anybody have an idea if this is possible?). Furthermore, key assignments of LocoPDF are not the same as FBReader. If you want to go to a particular page number, for FBReader it is the '2' key but in LocoPDF it is the key '1'. So not very consistent. I know that a small team is working on developing OI but I prefer to have a proper working LocoPDF (or maybe they will use another viewer?) and basic functions than spending development time to the IMHO useless Games..
