So, ich hab's getan ... mein Zeigefinger war zu knapp über der Maustaste, um den Bestellvorgang noch rückgängig zu machen. *seufz, ich bin ein Opfer meiner Gelüste ...
Also, seit Samstag habe ich den Bookeen Opus (von bol.de mit dem Rabatt für insgesamt ca. 230.- Euro). Erster Eindruck: Seeehr schnuckelig! Das Gerät passt gut in eine Hand, die abgerundeten Kanten machen es gleich noch etwas ergonomischer. Insgesamt wirkt das Gerät schon "recht klein", das Display an sich ist aber ausreichend groß. Ich sehe das Cybook Gen3 inzwischen eher als Paperback und den Opus als handliches Taschenbuch. Die beigelegte Lederhülle ist oben offen, aber doch sehr robust. Insgesamt macht das Gerät einen sehr kompakten Eindruck. Und es ist extrem leicht, noch leichter als das Gen3. Wichtigster Punkt für mich: Ordnersturktur. Das hat Bookeen gut hinbekommen. Ordner lassen sich über den PC in mehreren Ebenen anlegen und werden vom Opus so auch problemlos erkannt. In Verbindung mit Bookeens starkem Punkt, die eBooks auch mit Cover-Thumbnails darzustellen, bekommt man nun z.B. in einem Ordner, der für eine einzelne Serie gedacht ist, alle Titel sehr gefällig präsentiert. Das schafft auch meiner Ansicht nach kein anderer Anbieter auf dem Markt. An der Darstellung von ePubs (ohne DRM) gibt's nichts auszusetzen. Sie werden gut dargestellt. Nur an die Umsetzung des ToC muss man sich etwas gewöhnen. Das ist ins "Gehe zu"-Menü integriert, mit dem man eigentlich Seiten ansteuert. Mal sehen, wie das bei verschachtelten Inhaltsverzeichnissen mit mehreren Ebenen optisch umgesetzt ist. Die Seitenzahlen sind tatsächlich so unscheinbar klein an den Rand gesetzt, dass sie kaum auffallen. Abstürze hatte ich bisher keine zu vermelden. Wenn das so bleibt, war das gerät eine vernünftige Anschaffung. Auf Wunsch stelle ich gern noch ein paar Bilder rein, oder falls ihr noch konkrete Fragen habt - her damit. Glückwunsch, K-Thom! Der ist in der Tat schnuckelig. Danke für die Berichterstattung inkl. Größenvergleich. Jetzt drängt sich langsam die Frage auf, welches deiner Lesegeräte dein genereller Favorit ist (ja, ja, ich weiß schon, jeder hat so seine Vor- und Nachteile, aber angenommen, Du müsstest Dich jetzt auf ein einziges Lieblingsgerät festlegen, welches wäre das dann?)

Derzeit mit einem gewissen Vorsprung das Opus. Angenehme handliche Größe, irgendwie schnuckelig (ja, das ist wissenschaftlich jetzt nicht fundiert ...), gute ePub-Darstellung, schöne Ordnerstruktur.
Will ich mich aber auf der Couch rumlümmeln, machen das Gen3 oder der Kindle mehr Sinn. Da ich beide mit denselben Dateien bestücke (prc), tun sich keines wirklich hervor. Wobei der Kindle von allen drei die praktischten Knöpfe zum Umblättern hat. Der Kindle war auch tatsächlich eher eine geschäftliche Anschaffung, um zu sehen, wie das Teil nun wirklich beschaffen ist. Die beiden Bookeen-Geräte würden's eigentlich völlig tun. Ein großes für die Wohnung, ein kleines für unterwegs. Na, vielleicht noch ein richtig schlanker Tablet-PC mit 10"-Farbdisplay. |

Ein txtr allein macht noch keinen Reader.
Und nicht, dass bei Bookeen jetzt alles im grünen Bereich wäre. Die Geräte laufen zwar (sogar das Opus bisher ohne Abstürze), aber die Nähe zum Kunden lässt doch noch deutlich Raum für Verbesserungen offen. |
