With having to move my media server and having finally unpacked my dvds yesterday my personal watch list has exploded. I'm trying to figure out what to watch first. |

But that's not what it's about.... Oh - and I really enjoyed the book, and a re-read of the book. The TV series is different in some details, of course, but also excellent. |

I enjoyed "Good Omens" (both the book and the show), but while reading it, I couldn't help but feel it was reminiscent of Heinlein's "Job: A Comedy of Justice". Not necessarily a bad thing; it just meant I wasn't quite as enamored with Good Omens as I might have been had I read it first.

Vis-a-vis the "religious themes," well...kinda is the best way I can put it. Mostly NOT is the more accurate way. The story wouldn't exist without them, but it's not proselytizing if that's what she's contemplating. Not IMHO, anyway. (Waves at everybody--sorry, between the crud that kept me down for a while and a staff loss in my admin office, I'm just not able to get over here daily as I used to.) Hitch |

Earlier this week we finished Kaos. In the end it grew on me and I liked it. Hopefully it's going to be renewed, but Netflix hasn't got a good track record of lately with cancelling shows I like.
Last night we watched Twisters, which was very entertaining. My sister decided she wants to watch Only Murders in the Building. But I've already watched the first two seasons. I'll suggest she catches up next week, when I'm away. Considering it's nearly October I think I'm going to watch some horror movies when I'm on vacation. There's nothing like scaring the shit out of myself when staying in a strange room. |

I finished up Snowpiercer the other night.
Spoiler:
Then I quickly dumped AMC+ before my discounted trial was over so I can re-start Hulu for the new Fall TV schedule. I don't dislike AMC+ but my streaming funds are limited, so I juggle a lot.
I was amused enough with Netflix's "Kevin Can **** Himself" to continue on with the second season. I also watched the 2nd season of Prime's "Rings of Power" and still didn't hate it. But at some point, they're going to need to get over the notion that threatening to kill Galadriel is not really going to create the tension that they seem to want it to. I already know she makes it to the Grey Havens. I was there when Frodo and the gang stopped by Lothlorien for a visit in the third age. Last edited by DiapDealer; 10-02-2024 at 04:04 PM. |

I just started that yesterday. Watched the movie first and about to start watching the third episode. Now realise the movie comes after the tv show in the timeline.
Skipping the rest of your post as I don't want any spoilers... |

Earlier this week I watched the new version of Salem's Lot on HBO, based on the Stephen King novel.
It looks really good, but the story itself is missing something. To it felt like there was very little character background, which led to not much character development. And the story itself felt rushed. I think it would have been better as a mini series. |

It took us 6 weeks but we've finally caught up on the 13 seasons of the Murder In... French anthology. The formula is 2 detectives forced to work together against their wishes, usually with a happy ending. They vary from OK to very good, with some familiar faces from Astrid, Candice Renoir, Profilage etc.
Now on to Backstrom S3 - gotta love his loose cannon approach to crime solving... |

I'm enjoying a new BBC detective series, Ludwig. A puzzle author stands in for his twin brother (a police Detective Inspector).
