eInk technologies announced a new 2024 version of the Gallery 3 panel. Some rumors claim Amazon has an exclusive on it for new devices, much like they did with the 10.3" 300ppi Carta display for the Scribe.

It will be curious to see what Amazon cooks up in 2025. But a 7-8" Color Oasis with physical page turn buttons with faster refresh Gallery 3 screen would be nice.

A 10"-11" device would be better for comic books, textbooks and magazines.

With the new Remarkable, I'm excited to see where this goes. Still only 229 PPI, though.

Maybe we'll reach that point in a couple of years.

I would noy say color eink is doomed. It's just not there yet. We're almost there with Gallery3. We just need better page turns.

Or we need LCD tablets with way better battery life and screen we can use outdoors.
