I know, but I already installed the Koreader packet, in that case I have to install the new package (double or plato only) over my previous installation?
What Plato makes different or better than Koreader? Does it improve PDF reading? Thanks |

If you installed the combined package you have it and can easily try it. I always install the combined package so that I can check out the progress of Plato, but I don't use it. In my experience: stock reader is the slowest, KO Reader faster, Plato even faster stock reader has the fewest customizations, Plato next, KOReader can customize everything KOReader is the ugliest, stock reader next, and Plato is the prettiest I've not tried PDFs in Plato, but I think it's mostly focused on the best reflowable format reading (e.g. epub) I personally find KOReader to be perfect fit for me -- tons of customization and some really useful features (like qr code from clipboard, on the fly book-specific css editing, etc) I don't care how the menus or book browser look, I don't spend much time there. ...and before hitting send, I decided to try a PDF in Plato -- it works well, better than the stock firmware, but the cropping/reflow/etc is nowhere near as powerful as KOReader, but the crop tool is easier to use in Plato. Neither seems to support alternate page cropping for books that have a wide central margin that would normally be at the binding. |

Thank you, no, I didn't install the combined package but only the Koreader one.
If I want to install the combined package, or add the Plato package, can I simply install it over the Koreader or do I need to remove/disinstall something before? And what will I need to do to install future updates of these packages? Thanks and sorry for the dumb questions |

As for update, KOReader updates can be done via the update menu in the application -- Plato updates are a bit harder, requiring a computer do do the download and unzip so I don't update it as often, usually only updating it after a Kobo OS update breaks my install, requiring me to re-install from the zip file again. (nothing is lost in my settings/progress, it just means I can't launch the apps via NickleMenu until it's re-installed -- not sure if there's an on-device way to fix that w/o having to do a new unzip) |

You just need to download OCP OCP-Plato-0.9.43.zip from https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=314220, and put it in the folder OCP (image1), and run the install.ps to install Plato (image 2). According to image 2 is no.1 Last edited by hatuluang; 08-19-2024 at 06:13 PM. |

https://www.willus.com/k2pdfopt/help/dpi.shtml and then open in the reader of your choice. Perhaps KOreader can do just as well, but I've not used it enough to figure out how. |

Your experience will always be better doing something like that in advance because of the added processing time, regardless of the results.
Personally I prefer fit to width in nearly all cases though. |

KOReader has odd/even pages cropping too. In semi-auto mode, you need to specify crop margins on one page and then the next one. Tap and hold the name of the items to get extensive explanation.

I've installed Oneclick Koreader&Plato bundle. KOreader works, but Plato doesn't KFMon shows Launched plato.sh and nothing happens.

The install script isn't starting for me. I'm using NixOS with XFCE. It gives me slightly different errors depending on which terminal program I use. For instance when I launch the script through Xfce Terminal I get "bash: ./install.sh: cannot execute: required file not found," but when I launch it through XTerm I get "No such file or directory," but it all adds up to it just not working.
