I didn't buy it when it first came out last summer due to the ridiculous price ($37.99 Cdn) for a digital edition! While it has dropped to $23.37 Cdn, I'm still going to wait to make the purchase.

The Surviving Sky by Kritika H. Rao is $3 in the US (Kobo US, Kobo WW, Amazon)
First in a trilogy.
Quote:
Enter a lush world of cataclysmic storms, planet-wide jungles, floating cities and devastating magic in this first book of an explosive new science fantasy trilogy.

High above a jungle-planet float the last refuges of humanity -- plant-made civilizations held together by tradition, technology, and arcane science. Here, architects are revered deeply, with humanity's survival reliant on a privileged few. If not for their abilities, the cities would plunge into the devastating earthrage storms below.

Charismatic and powerful, Iravan is one such architect. His abilities are his identity, but to Ahilya, his archeologist wife, they are a method to suppress non-architects. Their marriage is thorny and fraught -- yet when a jungle expedition goes terribly wrong, jeopardizing their careers, Ahilya and Iravan must work together to save their reputations. But as their city begins to plummet, their discoveries threaten not only their marriage, but their entire civilization.

The Game-Players Of Titan by Philip K. Dick is $2 in the US (Kobo, Amazon)
Quote:
Years ago, Earth and Titan fought a war and Earth lost. The planet was irradiated and most of the surviving population is sterile. The few survivors play an intricate and unending game called Bluff at the behest of the slug-like aliens who rule the planet. At stake in the game are two very important commodities: land and spouses. Pete Garden just lost his wife and Berkeley, California, but he has a plan to win them back. That is, if he isn't derailed by aliens, psychic traitors, or his new wife.

The Game-Players of Titan is both satire and adventure, examining the ties that bind people together and the maddening peccadilloes of bureaucracy, whether the bureaucrats are humans or alien slugs.

Lord Valentine's Castle by Robert Silverberg. £0.99 at Amazon UK

I don't think they're part of the aforementioned Gollancz sale.

Andrew

Edited - yes, Proxima is part of that sale.

Good!

Time to spend some more - Gollancz have dropped the UK prices on more of their SF Masterworks range than just Flowers for Algernon.

I am Legend (Richard Matheson), To Say Nothing of the Dog (Connie Willis) and The Prestige (Christopher Priest) are three outstanding reads if anyone's looking for recommendations. I haven't read Ursula Le Guin's The Word for World is Forest but it's just gone in the basket along with Jack Finney's The Body Snatchers.

I've read I am Legend and To Say Nothing of the Dog. Both are very good. If you read the Connie Willis book, you'll want to also read the rest of the books in the series. I just she'd write more in the Oxford Time Travel series.
