Comic app with OPDS

Title says it all. I've tried several comic apps on my Ipad, but none have OPDS support to get my Calibre books from my Mac.

PocketBook has OPDS support.

BookFusion might be worth considering if you are willing to subscribe. It has a calibre plugin that lets you select a subset (or all) of your library to upload and make available in the BookFusion apps.

You can try comicshare.
I thought it's the best comic reader.

In my opinion, this is the best comic book reader at the moment.

To Update: I do like Panels best as a reader. But I'm having trouble downloading comics from Calibre to any comic reader. I can occasionally get Calibre Companion to cooperate and download books from Calibre and then transfer them to a comic reader.

What OPDS app can I use to get comic books to my Ipad (other than CC)?

Panels has OPDS support. It's requires you to purchase it but it's definitely worth it. You can find it under Manage Your Accounts and then click Add Service. From there choose OPDS and then add your server.

Chunky has OPDS but the developer appears to have disappeared and the app hasn't been updated in years. It still works, but without an active developer it's impossible to say for how long.

Hi, I'm one of the 2 Panels' creator/devs.

First, thanks for recommending our app.

About your Calibre issues using OPDS, I'd recommend you to contact us via email or join our Discord community which is pretty active. You can find links to them directly from our app, in settings section. I will be able to help you faster if you use those channels.

About other OPDS server app, most of our users like either Komga or Kavita. We have good relationship with both developers and have implemented custom features to integrate better with them. For example, they both support comic page streaming so you can read comics without the need of downloading the full file.

Happy to answer any questions or feedback you may have!

I've tried most of the comic apps over the years. Back in the day, ComicGlass was the king of the "streaming" reading apps, and is still usable but is a bit dated. I'm now using ComicShare, which I think is the best right now. Very cheap one time purchase and no subscription fees like some of the other over-rated apps. Both ComicGlass and ComicShare are/were lesser known apps in their day than some of the more well known apps, but have been my favorites. ComicShare has a lot of options and can look overwhelming at a glance, but I found that it is still easy to set up and use.
