Haven't looked at the package closely, but I noticed you put it together by hand over the span of a few hours (smh... I automated it for a reason lol). The binaries are good, so your package should be fine for people to use (I haven't looked at the patch files though).

Anyways, here's a compiled package done the proper way (go run ./scripts/build/build.go 4.39.22801).

It was the first time I installed patches so I was just feeling my way around to be honest; I did see the build.go script but I haven’t got golang installed and couldn’t really be bothered just for this, so I just combined the patch files and hacked something together that reproduced the structure of the releases.

Thanks all. I was able to install several of the Kobo Libra Colour patches, at least one of which, was not compliant with the Kobo Libra 2 patchwork.

Thanks for the hard work!

Hey, I'm hoping I can get some help here with trying to get this patch that @ jackie_w was kind enough to write for me. I just gave my Sage away to a friend and now have a Libra Colour. Is there anyway I can get the patch below to work on my ereader?

I've tried applying it a couple of times, but every time I try, my kobo seems to crash and then do a factory reset of sorts? I've tried fiddling around with it a bit, but I'm not familiar enough with it to try to debug it fully.

I've quoted slash copy/pasted the original post they posted below.

You'll need to disable both the old patches:
Custom synopsis details line spacing
Custom synopsis font size

and enable this new one:
Custom synopsis details all-in-one
Spoiler:
Code:
Custom synopsis details all-in-one:
  - Enabled: no
  - Description: |
      Customise synopsis body style in Book details,
        including font-size, line-height

        # create even more space.
        # If you set your Kobo to one of the following 4 Japanese/Chinese locales,
        # then comment out the line corresponding to this locale
        - {Find: "body[localeName=\"ja\"] {\n  font-family: Sans-SerifJP, sans-serif;\n  font-style: normal;\n}\n",   Replace: "\n"}
        - {Find: "body[localeName=\"zh\"] {\n  font-family: Sans-SerifZH-Simplified, sans-serif;\n  font-style: normal;\n}\n",   Replace: "\n"}
        - {Find: "body[localeName=\"zh-HK\"] {\n  font-family: Sans-SerifZH-Traditional, sans-serif;\n  font-style: normal;\n}\n",   Replace: "\n"}
        - {Find: "body[localeName=\"zh-TW\"] {\n  font-family: Sans-SerifZH-Traditional, sans-serif;\n  font-style: normal;\n}\n",   Replace: "\n"}
  • line-height is now customised in the 1st Find/Replace. This value is no longer model-specific.
  • font-size is still model-specific and is customised in the relevant line in the second block of Find/Replaces.
  • the rest of the patch code exists to clear enough space so that kobopatch.bat (or kobopatch.sh) doesn't fail. If you never set your Kobo to use any of the Japanese or Chinese locales then you don't need to change anything in this code.

Thank you so much for the effort. A request that is a repeat of one made two years ago, but I don't see any patch for.

https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...le#post4218511

Would there be a way to change the links to the browser that you see when you select/highlight a word (you get a popup with the options to
  • Search in book
  • Search Wikipedia
  • Search Google

There's also a pop-up dictionary with logos that if pressed leads to the same "Search Wikipedia" and "Search Google" functions.

I'm wondering if instead of "Search Google", the outcome of pressing the selection could instead target DuckDuckGo, or make any customized link appear?

If this request is found to be worthy of the attention of any of the devs, it would much appreciated!

Would it be possible to create a patch to show numbers for font size, margins, etc. on the Aa adjustment screen, rather than just having unquantified sliders?

I could examine koboreader.conf, but it would be better to have the numbers on the Aa adjustment screen itself.

There is a NickelMenu command to have the information about font, font size & weight, and margins that you are using on the reading page.

Yes, but it would be much better to have the information on the Aa setting page.

That's too bad.

Not that it matters for a Kobo, but it appears Kindles have this feature.

kobo libra color patches

i wonder if there can be a patch for kobo screens refresh
same as KOreader options:
Avoid mandatory black flashes in UI (the black flash is really annoying in libra color for some ppl so disable that is good )
also is there already a refresh patch for disable “Always flash on pages with images” --|
libra color mainly use images so these two patches will really be good !

thank you

numPartialUpdatePageTurns in Kobo eReader.conf controls how often the screen refreshes, so you can change it to a high number to limit black flashes.

thanks.

the problem is that it doesn't work for contents with images.
there is a forced refresh in kobo libra color for content with images. so the numPartialUpdatePageTurns is overriden.

Same image issue for the b&w libra. It helps for normal books with few if any illustrations, but not mainly graphic content.
