It adds support for new Tolino devices. See https://github.com/kovidgoyal/calibr...kobo/driver.py for a list of the commits. I haven't looked at what the changes do.

The new tolino devices with fw 5.x use 1 and 0 instead of "true" and "false" for boolean values. See this thread.

EDIT: Sorry, didn't notice the last two or three posts

I've reverted back to the 7.15 kobo driver from the preview release driver. I get errors when writing metadata to my Libra Colour and Sage. Replacing the contents of /src/calibre/devices/kobo with the version from 7.15 corrects the issue.

Error message text is:

Released preview version 7.16.100 which is built with the latest available Qt 6.7.2. Hopefully that fixes some crashing bugs with assistive technologies on macOS, though this being Qt, I am sure it introduces other regressions. So testing would be appreciated. Thanks.

Not certain if this is related to the preview release but it's the first time I went to change a conversion setting in quite a while. There almost seems as if I am seeing two windows stuffed into one. I've attached some sample images.

Edit: after trying the conversion options, when I went to Sharing over the net, I still had the conversion options screen showing.

Edit 2: Restarted calibre and still had the same issue. Shut calibre down, removed run from source, started calibre and looked okay. Shut calibre down again, went back to running from source and issue was still gone.

I'm not sure if it was more than a one off glitch. I am running 7.16.100 preview with run from source, Windows 11 23H2. After I noticed it this morning, it has not happened again. Perhaps I should not have disabled run from source, etc.

Possibly you ran the 7.16.100 binary with pre-7.16.100 source? Or the opposite, 7.16.100 source with a previous binary? I have found that from time to time running from source doesn't work because the source requires a change in some embedded software like Qt, python, or one of the C libraries used to interface to the OS. These are included in the binary. There have been times where Kovid was kind enough to build a beta binary so I could continue running from the latest source.

It is a good idea to install the latest binary if you are running a later source.

I had installed the 7.16.100 MSI and the source code downloaded from the calibre site at 21:45 PDT on 2024-Aug-15 with calibre not running so as close a match as I could get. I did not see the issue until this morning. Once I saw the issue, it survived a calibre restart. It wasn't until I disabled run from source and ran the binary, this issue cleared up. When I switched back to running from source, the problem did not show up. OTOH, it took over a day for the problem to show up the first time so I'm not going to write it off for a few more days.

Looks like a Qt glitch (the widget isnt being stretched to fill available space so you can see the widget underneath), if you can find a way to reproduce I would be most interested, it doesnt happen for me running from source or not.

I just installed the 7.16.100 preview and I got the same result. I closed preferences, went back in, and it didn't do it.

I've rerun the preview and went into preferences a few times and nothing happened. I'll report back if it does happen again.
