VirusTotal 5/71 security vendors flagged this file as malicious
Hi there,
Thanks for creating this great tool. As a precautious, I uploaded the KCC_6.1.0.exe to VirusTotal and it has some flags. Wondering if this is just false positive and if you have a good explanation of why they were flagged as malicious. Thank you so much |

False positives. As for an explanation of why they were flagged as malicious? You would have to check that with the companies involved. Though from my experience BKAV Pro seems to be the undisputed leader in producing generic false positives.
You choice as to whether or not you want to install it. I do have my personal choices as to which companies I tend to believe (Palo Alto Networks, Microsoft, TrendMicro, Sophos, etc.) when deciding whether or not a program is actually malware. |

Is there a way to force double pages for the full manga? RMPP doesn't have the option to display two at once.

Plan to use KCC on a Colorsoft?
OK, I notice that it looks like Ciromattia (author of KCC) has not been here for some years? So, I figured I would share this with all.
I have a ColorSoft on order from Amazon but it apparently will not have CBR/CBZ format support. For a color reader that seems a bit (a lot) strange as trillions of comic book files use that format. I asked over on the Kindle Support Forums run by Amazon. A couple community members there told me about Kindle Comic Reader aka KCC. I downloaded the most current 6.2 version from Github. Installation went fine on my Intel Mac. It does convert any CBR/CBZ file (that I own anyway) to EPUB. But it gives three EPUB formats as possible choices in its dropdown menus. The simple EPUB choice always results in an email from Amazon that the format has been delivered to my library but it is not proper. That email lists maybe fifteen or so possible internal problems in that EPUB format none of which seem to me to be possible in a comic book file. The other two choices are EPUB (Calibre KFX) and EPUB (Small Format). So far I have had pretty good luck with the Small Format. It does transfer to my library and from there to my Scribe, my PW SIG and to all my iPhone and/or iPad Kindle programs (those in color). So I would feel pretty good. Except for those Amazon letters. Is the Small Format the best choice? So far that has worked but it's worrying me. Anyone here do new profiles to install in KCC? Will there be one for the Colorsoft? Right now I set KCC profile to Kindle PW 11 with other choices being color mode on, Stretch/Upscale and Cropping Mode. I know the ColorSoft will not be out for a couple weeks. But lacking hardware to actually smoke test on does anyone have any ideas as to how to best use KCC (or whatever you suggest) to transfer about 400 or so files? (And these BTW are all PD or free-use files or ones I bought and paid for and then took care of the DRM thing) Thanks! |

As for error messages back from Amazon, I haven't seen one of those in quite a while other than the complaint about adding <meta property="rendition:spread">portrait</meta> to the content.opf since the standard is now to use landscape (only when the device is held in landscape orientation), both (when the device is in either landscape or portrait orientation), auto (no preference), or none with using portrait being deprecated. Does anyone read comics with the kcc on the Kindle Scribe? I've tried and it's not comfortable. Either it goes panel by panel instead of page by page or it's so small that I can't read the text. Any experts on this?

Something wrong you're doing with your setting or your source is pretty bad and it becomes too blurry. I'm reading manga since i got it and it's the best. Didn't try western comics cause they usually require colors/didn't have any b/w to read at the moment.

I don't like manga, I read comics and graphic novels. I may be willing to sacrifice color in certain cases, but not what I said in the previous post. I have the impression that the pages of a manga are smaller than those of a standard comic, which would explain why they look good.

Colorsoft Settings
I've got a Colorsoft on order to replace my aging PW and thought I'd like to convert some comics in advance - can anyone advise on the correct settings to use (or should I just wait for the next release which presumably will build them in).

I’ll be happy to add the new kindle models if someone tells me the screen resolutions of the new devices.
Scribe user from a few posts up, it looks like you accidentally enabled panel view. Double tap the corner to disable it so it does normal full screen page by page turning. |

The Paperwhite 12th gen and the ColorSoft both have a 7" 1264x1680 screen. The Kindle Basic and Scribe have not changed screen size or resolution from the previous generation.
