That's one feature I would like to see in the PocketBook. The ability to open the dictionary in full page mode when reading, like some of the other readers provide. (You can get full screen by looking up the word in the Dictionary app, but I would like that integrated while reading.)

More features (and complexity) than I need. But the main thing that bothered me was its lack of "regular" ePub page numbering. (I use that for syncing with other readers.)
Many thanks, I've got the download and will do the install later. It is much appreciated! I can live with the scrolling, I suspect.

I don't need the dictionary often, but I prefer something a bit more up-to-date than the 1913 version that came installed on the Pocketbook. Why they'd choose something that old, I can't quite fathom!

I too use Adobe ePub page numbering to sync with other readers.

You can enable so called "reference pages" on KOReader, where you'll have a page per specific number of characters. I've created a user patch to enable this feature, but you'll have to slightly change it to use 1,024 for the page size (as Adobe does): https://github.com/koreader/koreader...ent-2033259217

Then you'll have a new "Reference pages" setting in the menu, where you can enable them instead of the screen ones.

The "real" 1913 Webster's Dictionary is fine (I own(ed) a paper version of it), but what PocketBook gives you of it is just a tiny sample of it. Not sure how they even call it a Webster's Dictionary.

That's something I don't want to give up.

Would the resulting page numbers be the same as what I get with the Pocketbook's built-in reader (or Kobo using ePub not KePub, or even the Nook, Sony or Tolino)? I read something about doing that (when I tried KoReader) but I wasn't sure if it would be the same. (And, honestly, I wasn't quite sure how to do it.)

For some books — yes, but not for all. It seems that Pocketbook reader does something less trivial than simply dividing book character count per a fixed number.

Okay, thank you. I got the idea it wasn't quite the same. As it is, I can read the same book on a PocketBook, a Sony, a Kobo (ePub), a Nook and a Tolino and they'll have the same page numbers. I realize that most people don't switch from one reader to another while reading the same book but it's what I do fairly often.

I vaguely recall that "pages" were divided into 1024-byte segments of _compressed_ data, not uncompressed characters. So the compression ratio and character encoding (i.e. how many bytes to encode each character) will both affect the actual number of characters in each "page".

Okay, this explains why there is different number of uncompressed characters per Pocketbook page, it depends on the compression ratio.

I spoke with the KOReader developer, and it seems that they will never support Adobe page numbering model (which makes sense to me), but there's a way to sync book progress between different KOReader apps, so this may solve your problem, @rcentros: https://github.com/koreader/koreader/wiki/Progress-sync

This looks like a nice feature for those who use KoReader on multiple devices and keep their WiFi turned on. But to preserve batteries and to keep my eReaders from automatically updating, I seldom turn on WiFi (the PocketBook being an exception since I will occasionally use its Send-To-PocketBook feature — but even then it's just download the book and WiFi is off again.) I have too many eReaders and often move from one to another when reading a specific book. The simplest way for me to sync is by using the built-in Adobe page numbers. Again, I realize this is not "standard procedure," but it is "standard" for me.
