HTTP Error 403: Forbidden

EDIT: Well, I rebooted the computer and the Sage, reconnected and the problem didn't recur. So, whatever it was, it appears to have gone away.

OP: I'm not sure where to report this. But, I just connected my Kobo Sage to Calibre and up popped the following error:

I'm not sure what the problem is or what the result of that error is. But, I thought I'd report it.

Just came here to report this. Am getting the same error every time I connect my Kobo Glo HD. Started happening after update to v6.22. And yes, a reboot appears to 'have solved it 😊

This appears to be an issue with the KoboUtilities plugin when it is trying to check for a new firmware update. I haven't taken much of a look at it but it appears that the URL that is used to check is no longer valid.

I had this error as well, and after uninstalling KoboUtilities it no longer occurs.

All you had to do was turn off 'Check for updates daily' in the Utilities Configuration.

Someone will figure what changed at the site it checks and update the PI. No need to lose the OTHER benefits of KU (or KUe)

Oops, Kobo did it again!
Got that 403 today.
Funnily, before that, Kobo Utilities successfully reported a new Firmware version (with ver. nr.) available, so it's maybe just the download link.

The error message shows a call stack:

Forget using Kobo Utilities to check for new firmware. It won't work. Kobo is using Cloudflare to block unauthorized connections. And unless Kobo Utilities is upgraded like Kobo Metadata was, it will fail.
