That release predates the new devices. http://build.koreader.rocks/download/nightly/

My Kobo was connected at drive E at the time. Any suggestions?
I would suggest opening a Powershell window and then running the script from there so you can see the results. You did place the install.ps1 script and the .zip file in the same directory? You will need to use .\install.ps1 to execute the script from the Powershell window.

  1. download install.ps1 following the instructions to unblock it
  2. download OCP-Plato-0.9.42_KOReader-v2024.04.zip and place it in the same directory as install.ps1. Do not unzip the archive.
  3. open a Powershell window in that directory and run ./install.ps1
  4. if all goes well, continue to update Plato and KOReader
  5. download Plato-0.9.43.zip.
  6. open it with a zip file utility.
  7. copy the contents of the .zip file to the /.adds/plato directory on your Kobo.
  8. download the latest KOReader nightly.
  9. open it with a zip file utility
  10. copy the contents of the .zip file to the /.adds/koreader directory on your Kobo.

All the heavy lifting should have been done by the install script.

Thank you, I appreciate your help. I factory reset and started the process again. I followed your instructions and Plato now works. KOReader still crashes my device however.

For KOReader, you need to use the latest koreader nightly update, download the one for Kobo, extract it, and copy the folder koreader and paste it on .adds folder on your Kobo to replace the initial koreader folder.

This is the nightly file I used for my Kobo Clara BW that didn't work: koreader-kobo-v2024.04-221-g6d73442ec_2024-06-30.zip

I extracted it directly into the koreader folder in .adds

I could try the process again but I'm pretty sure that I used the correct version first time, no?

the latest one is 2024-07-03

You need to change/replace the initial koreader folder with koreader folder from nightly update.
The straightforward way is to copy koreader folder from nightly update and paste it on .adds folder, It will replace the koreader folder from the initial installation.

What I've been doing is to merge the latest Plato and KOReader nightly into the OCP package to make the install easier when I am checking operation on my Libra Colour. I've attached a sample to this message.

Edit: removed link to my updated package since the official package has been updated.

Download OCP-Plato-0.9.43_KOReader-v2024.07.zip for an example.

Nor does Plato 0.9.43 work on a Libra Colour. It does work on a Clara BW.

is Koreader supported by the new kobo bw? I tried installing and I get some errors:
" [KFMon] Internal storage unavailable, bye!" appears on the bottom when device is off.
When I try to start I get "[KFMon] Koreader Launched koreader.sh ", however nothing happens for a few seconds and then the device restarts or at least there is a screen with three dots in the middle (loading).
Can anyone assist on how I can make it work?
I have MacOS Monterey and Kobo version is 4.39.23027

As far as I have found from my testing on a Libra Colour, the latest nightlies from KOReader work.

If you look at message #1103 in this thread, there's a link to my modification of the OCP installer for KOReader and Plato with versions that should work on a Clara BW (Plato does not yet support the Libra Colour/Clara Colour).

Oh thanks, I saw a bit after I posted too. rushed into asking a bit.
And the installer would be the same one which is in the first post in this thread? That is for mac. and should it be in the same folder as the extracted plato files?

Oops, I thought I'd refreshed those with the latest Plato, my bad .

I've just bumped the packages with a current KOReader nightly to address the lack of support for MTK devices, too.

You could manually copy the contents of the plato directory in the .zip file over the files in the .adds/plato directory on your Kobo. Or you could use the installer script from the 2nd message in this thread.
