Pocketbook Touch Lux 4 or Pocketbook Verse
I own a Pocketbook Touch Lux 4 which is still working but getting a bit slow and not very responsive. Would replacing it with a new Pocketbook Verse be a good choice? What can Verse do that Touch Lux 4 cannot?

Here are the full specs side-by-side (on my comparison site): https://comparisontabl.es/e-readers/...Book+Verse#sbs
Things the Verse can do that Lux 4 can't: - Use color adjustable / warm frontlight - Auto-rotate the screen based on how you're holding it (automatically switch from portrait to landscape mode and vice versa) - Apply dark mode to text (white letters on black background) - (most likely) use the same charger as your smartphone, as it has a USB-C charging port Also, the Verse likely to be a bit faster as it has a 1 GHz dual core processor vs the single-core 1 GHz processor on the Touch Lux 4. |

Thank you, Guido. Your reply was very informative.
Do you know if auto-rotate the screen can be disabled? Do you know if it is true that the frame in Verse is stronger than in Touch Lux? I saw it on YouTube somewhere, but could not find any confirmation. |

Not sure about how strong the frame is, but you can turn of the auto-rotate (G-sensor) function, you can see the option to do so in this video: https://youtu.be/PNQWrfmA4hc?si=Wt9IzAJRs5CDimiH&t=177

I am still on the fence. Now it is between Pocketbook Basic Lux 4 and Pocketbook Verse. They are both on sale now.
What can Verse do that Basic Lux 4 cannot do? Technical specifications look very similar. (Smart light is not necessary for me, just a backlight is fine with me. I do need a gyroscope either.) I use my reader for reading books only and prefer downloading from my computer through a data transfer cord. I only use wi-fi for software updating. Last edited by Milanya; 11-22-2024 at 03:46 PM. |

I have the Basic Lux 3, which has no touchscreen, but it comes with warm light. So quite a bit different than my HD 3. |
