So I just got a used PW3 with the intention of jailbreaking it. It is currently on a pretty ancient FW 5.8.9.
I'm assuming it's totally safe to update to 5.16.2.1.1 and still use this JB; correct? I'd like to have the most up-to-date FW possible before jailbreaking. |

Only thing I'm struggling a bit with atm is getting USBNetworking playing nicely over USB. don't want to hijack the thread but in case someone has a quick solution... Steps I've taken: 1. added public key to /mnt/usbnet/etc/authorize_keys 2. enabled openssh I can ssh to root@192.168.15.244 using my keys without an issue but logs show Code:
230502:012148 sshd[8937]: User root should not be allowed because account is locked, but we're a nice Kindle ;) 230502:012148 sshd[8937]: Accepted publickey for root from 192.168.15.201 port 47848 ssh2: ED25519 SHA256:XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX I get the same behaviour and message if I use dropbear instead. |

Okay new issue, I've tried reinstalling 5.16.0.1, and doing the ol' DO_FACTORY_RESTORE but it doesn't seem to help. When I try to install LanguageBreak it seems to work, I do the demo thing, sideload, resell, and then it restarts, and shows the text saying it's jailbroken, but I then reboot into demo mode again, and installing the hotfix fails with an error 2. Trying to get out of demo mode then sends me back to the "Set up your Kindle" OOBE, and I can't seem to properly install LanguageBreak, when everything should be fine. Any help? Thanks!

Worked great for me.
I had a issue with the post demo mode setup but I set it up again and redo the steps on my Windows laptop and after this I was able to launch the jailbreak script. It looks like there was a hidden folder called .active_content_sandbox in the LB folder that wasn't shown on MacOS. |

Can anyone share if this works well on Kindle Oasis 3? I've found a seller with one running 5.14, but before I buy I want to verify this'll work and KOReader works well on it too; once upon a time the KO3 had some issues with KOReader which are documented in this thread.

Read more about it on: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=346037 It's not LanguageBreak, but it's still another option. |

Hi guys, can I asked about Koreader here because the threads about it closed?
I followed the LanguageBreak tutorial and install Kual complete. But when I install Koreader, it won't run, the step I followed is: - Copy "Update_KUALBooklet_f190a38_install.bin" file into "mrpackages" folder. Then copy all content of "kual-mrinstaller-1.7.N-r19303" folder into root folder of Kindle. - Ejected and unplugged Kindle. - Run ";log mrpi". It showed up like "hush baby, ..." and then restart. I have Kual in my Kindle. - Copy content of "koreader-kindlepw2-v2024.07" into root folder of Kindle, then ejected and unplugged Kindle too. I opened Koreadear inside Kual but nothing show up. Help me if you know, i really desperate! |
