I'm back from my first swim of the season at the outdoor pool at the local university, which opened today. Oy. I've noticed in the past few years how hard it is to come back; I remember last summer thinking to myself as I dragged myself up and down the lap lanes, "Huh. I used to enjoy this." I did come back, but it took a while. I wish the winter swimming options weren't so inconvenient. Just the same, I am very, very happy to be back in the water!

Packing day. The movers will be here between 1pm and 3pm to pack. I’ve already packed some clothes, toiletries, electronics and snacks for tonight and tomorrow night.
Tomorrow morning the movers will be here at 8am. I’m not sure how I’ll handle all the chaos, but I got my earphones for if it gets too chaotic and I need to create a barrier. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

And we have moved. Unpacking is going quicker that I expected, the things I had at the apartment are unpacked (so far as I can unpack them, since I'll have to wait for a bookcase, desk and bed to fully unpack that stuff). Tomorrow I'll make a beginning with the stuff from my storage.
Yesterday, when the movers were still busy my sister and I were outside directing where everything had to go. The neighbour across the street came over, he's a nice man and has lived there since the houses were build. He told us that his row of houses all have a small front yard intended for parking a car. But the yards are too small for cars, so nobody does that. Except him, he has the corner house and a bigger yard. He told us a while back there was a neighbour constantly complaining about him parking his car where it was intended to. Luckily that neighbour moved a while ago which made the neighbourhood improve immensely. When telling us this he vaguely gestured towards the corner. The corner around which our uncle (yes, the uncle of all the lawsuits) lived. I jokingly asked him if that neighbour happened to live at number X. He did! Apparently the whole neighbourhood hated him! That made not only my day, but possible my year! |

LOL!!! If you make sure your neighbors know that uncle wasn't your favorite either, they ought to all love you!!

Today we went shopping. We ordered a sofa (eta last week of September) and my sister ordered a bed and mattress. My bed is coming on Tuesday, and I'm really looking forward to not having to sleep on the floor (on my new mattress). Although my mattress is thick my back isn't too happy and getting up from floor level in the middle of the night at almost 44 years old is a chore, too. |

Preparing to run my errands early today. Not only because it's going to be another hot day, but from 11 am onward a couple of packages are set to be delivered and from 3.30 pm our groceries are going to be delivered.
I've decided to not unpack anything today or tomorrow. It's just too hot upstairs and I'm not going to carry boxes down two stairs, only to carry everything up again. |

Besides that, you need a day off! I turn off all ideas of a “deadline” and unpack at my leisure. Preparing for a move (especially as I boxed everything myself) is stressful. After the move is on nobody’s schedule but my own. Kitchen plates, I need soon. My hobbies, not so much. They’re still partly in boxes, 2 years after my move!

There is a little bit of a deadline. In six to eight weeks my custom made desk and bookcase will be delivered. The boxes take up most of my office/craft space, so the need to be unpacked before then. Besides, when my things are unpacked/put away it'll give me a piece of mind. Not something that is looming over me still.
But today it's too hot. I've started laundry and contacted a furniture restorer about a fireside chair that I want to have restored/repaired. I've also had a stomach cramps most of the night so I'm tired and crabby. So I'm going to read and cross stitch whilst waiting for more packages to arrive, which seem to be a never ending thing at the moment. |

Starting my annual acclimation training - to walk in very hot weather and not get sick - once the intense summer heat arrives, it stays put for 2 - 3 months at least - so hydration and pacing essential to survival

I've got a mostly relaxed day ahead of me. My sister is working all day and afterwards is going out to dinner, so she won't be home until later.
So I'm going to first do the chores I normally do on Friday (because tomorrow is a busy day); dust, vaccuum toilets and kitchen. Today is also laundry day. But otherwise I'm free to do what I want. I plan on doing some cross stitching and reading during the day. Then order dinner to be delivered. After dinner a nice, long shower and then I'm going to watch some tv, not sure what I'm going to watch yet. |
