As far as I know, Kobo's people were driven off a decade back.

It's not for anything in 2024. Maybe it was useful in 2010 when it was started.

Unless, as Quoth said, maybe it's useful for those who like to have a place to (pointlessly) rant.

Or maybe Kobo person(s) come here to scope things out even if they don't announce their presence.

Hello,
Maybe this request I've been posted dozen times... Is this any way to include a feature to lock some collections into the Kobo Reader ? It would be a nice feature.
Tnx

Why do you need to lock? It's just a matter of leaving at least 1 eBook in the collection to keep it from being removed by calibre. The thing is though, why do you need empty collections?

Angry add option to disable the touchscreen like what kindle oasis series have

otherwise the waterproof is useless to me!!! screen twitches when the water splashes on it, totally can't read!!!
i bought libra2 just because i imagine i could shower while read.
please, i really love my libra2 but this is the reason why i still use my kindle!!!

Kobo documents that the touchscreen won’t work properly when wet so I think you’ll need to rethink your plans to read it in the shower.

The waterproofing seems more aimed at ensuring it survives a dunking and will still work after being dried, not that you can use it while (say) scuba diving.

Audiobooks might be a more practical solution.

From the website (for the libra 2):

Quote:
2 meters (6.5 feet)
Up to 1 hour of fresh water submersion
IPX8 certified
So having an option for disabling the touchscreen and only using the buttons seems like a nice solution.

How would you turn the touchscreen back on again?

Last time I looked, on a Paperwhite, disabling the touchscreen still leaves swiping working. So you could emulate this on a Kobo by setting Page forward and back by: to swiping only under More => Settings => Reading settings.

To turn the touchscreen back on with a Kindle, you need to use the power button twice.
