Help with create a catalog

Hello,

For some reason, when I try to create a catalog I'm only given three format options: BIB, CSV, XML. Epub format is nowhere to be found.

Does anyone know why this is happening? I remember being able to do epub catalogs before. I have v.7.10 installed.

At some point you disabled the epub/mobi catalog generator plugin.

Hi there! I'm not sure where to post this. I'm trying to edit the catalog template, but I'm lost about how to introduce the "language" content in the description template (I work with a 3-5 languages library). Any suggestion? Thanks!

Are you trying to read the language from the ebook metadata or from a custom column you've created?

Thanks! I'd like to add into the description the language from the default "language" column (not a custom column) the same way the authors and title are reported.

You can select metadata Language for CSV/XML.

From "template" and "description" I understand that you like to create an epub with description.
When selection "description" in the epub settings, you will see a dropdown at the bottom. All customized fields are available to add as an addition content to the catalog. You need first to create a customized field with the languages field and maybe more details
e.g. {tags} in {languages}
I have no clue why the content of the languages field is shorten.

If you like to rearrange the fields please have a look here: https://manual.calibre-ebook.com/catalogs.html
In short: copy the template to a specific folder and update the xhtml.
You can remove fields but not add more than that one from the dialog mentioned above.

Many thanks! I did as you suggested and everything went fine. Still I believe it's worth noting that having to create a customized field for an existing variable (languages) it's a bit redundant. Anyone knows why "languages" is not among the available fields in the original template? I also tried to introduce {languages} in the template file but just after the action of producing the epub started, it stopped with an error caused by that variable. Any help?

epub catalogues are unmaintained since GRiker left 9beyond simple bug fixes), so if you want this you will need to submit a PR (i.e. write the code yourself and add it to calibre).
