Yeah, I have a note for my prescriptions. Acetaminophen is over-the-counter though so I need to specifically request a bottle switch.

For non North Americans - Acetaminophen is Paracetamol (Panadol, Tylenol etc).

For me, Acetaminophen is a Placebo ... and not a very good one.

I'm down with some kind of cold, and the list of things I need to do today escapes reality. I'll take any placebo right now, as long as it gets me through the day.

Working on our new house we spend Wednesday afternoon and all of yesterday removing wallpaper glue.
According to my sister's Google search that needed to be removed before the plasterer could start. For most of the walls we could use steamers, but on plasterboard, according to my sister, you can't and it needed to be sanded down. I asked her to contact the plasterer and ask him what we needed to do, but she refused to do so and wanted to follow Google's advice. So yesterday I spend 4 hours sanding down one bedroom wall and 4 hours steaming and scraping another. Yesterday at 5 pm the plasterer came to prepare some rooms for plastering and guess what he said. That the wallpaper glue is no problem. So that's 12 hours I will never get back. This morning I've got an appointment to get my eyes checked and I'm running some errands and I'm not going to hurry I've decided. |

Seriously, I would agree with you that asking the person who will actually be doing the plastering would have been a good idea. |

One friend of mine just hit the ceiling. He is a odd shaped ball fan (CFL, NFL, Aussie rules, rugby). He just found out that he will need a minimum of 5 streaming services just to cover NFL games plus the one he currently uses for rugby.

I didn't have the phone number (or details to find it) of the plasterer. I have now.
He did show us how to remove the wallpaper that didn't want to come off. We basically had to cut and scrape it off. When you can pull off glass fiber wallpaper easily it's fine. But when you have to cut and scrape tiny glass fibers come loose and embed in you skin and that's just horrible. But it's almost all off. Just two small sections behind radiators and those should come off fairly easy (famous last words). Next weekend we're going to remove the floor covers upstairs. It's mostly vinyl and carpet. Except for my bedroom where there are vinyl planks, which I strongly suspect are glued. If that is the case we can borrow a special tool from one of our neighbors, who got their keys a week before we got ours and are also redecoration. At least today will be an easy day. We're not going to the house, but instead we have to research and maybe order a couple of things. |

Consistently missing deadlines, appointments, and schedule-related events is something adults choose to do. Please start choosing differently. There are countless tools available to help you grow up in this regard.

Another rant about the delivery of something I ordered.
Last weekend I ordered a new mattress, I had planned on ordering it later but it was on sale. That company usually ships it with a day, since Monday was a bank holiday they shipped it on Tuesday. Normally the shipping company delivers it within 1 or 2 days. So I didn't plan anything. The shipping company didn't register the package (it's rolled up in a box) until Thursday night. First they were to deliver it yesterday morning. So I was up in time and was almost ready to leave for our new house when I got a message that the delivery was delayed and it would be delivered this morning. Just now I get another email telling me that the delivery is now delayed until Monday morning. Luckily I was already going to the house on Monday to meet with the painter and the flooring people. Now I'll just have to stay longer and wait for my package. If it's going to be delivered. I suspect the delay is because it's a big, heavy package. I deliberately picked this delivery company, because the other option was DHL and they are notorious for setting the delivery window between 8am and 8pm and then not showing up because "no one was home". I'll give them one more chance before contacting the manufacturer I ordered from to see if they can move things along. |

Customer support for something arriving late.
Me: My item is late, it was suppossed to arrive on the the 17th-20th, and today is the 21st. CS: It can take 2-3 weeks for a custom order to arrive. Me: It has been 20 days, and the status says "preparing for shipping", which it has said for 2 weeks. CS: It should arrive shortly. Me: Please cancel the order. CS: Since it is a custom order, it cannot be cancelled. You will need to wait. Me: That doesn't make sense. If it still hasn't shipped by June, August, Oct, Dec, I still have to wait? I forgot CS's reply at this point. Me: I need to talk to a supervisor CS: One will contact you within 72 hours. The item arrived 2 days later with no update to the website and a shipping notification email after I received the item. I never heard form the mythical "supervisor". This was Dick's Sporting Goods. I had ordered a custom item before and didn't have any problems. Next time, I will just order directly from the manufacturer. |

Staying with friends at their cottage. Currently they're half an hour into their 3rd Netflix film of the evening; high volume. I'd love to get off to bed but it's a small cottage and the noise.....
