On past Calibre Companion
Like many here, I have used Calibre Companion for years. What brought me here was having CC not make a wireless connection on my Android phone because the destination directory was read only. If I could fix that, I would probably just keep on, keeping on with CC since my usage is not very demanding. I don't use my phone for reading books, so the point of CC is to let me do various kinds of searches and read the metadata. I see a number of people now using Calibre-Sync, but I have no need to replicate the books themselves on Android. Is there something else?

That worked! I guess I can hold off switching for a while. Seemed slower than I remembered, but then I have never had a backlog of 98 files to transfer!
