The Sage has eMMC storage not a removable µSD card so you would need a surface mount rework station to even think about removing/replacing the internal storage. The original N905 Touch, N514 Aura, N709 Aura One & N782 Forma also have fixed internal storage.

Not that it was needed but I went ahead and recorded the process from the original post. Used a laminated card (cut to fit) https://youtube.com/shorts/SdJqfeqgats sim card pin thing, worked easy once I bent it. https://youtube.com/shorts/2uF4UDf4wls I now have 128gb! From your second video, looks like the Libra 2 comes with a 32GB A2 MicroSD Card. Being that it's already an A2 card, would swapping it out for another card even help with performance?

IT would not help with performance. The only thing swapping the microSD card would do is give you a backup and more storage.

The only reason to upgrade would be if you've had a super extensive ebook library and want to take it with you all the time. I checked my Calibre library, and it's 7.2 GB in total, which includes some manga from HumbleBundle.
Sideloading audiobooks on the Kobo is a pretty shit experience. So if you only take Kobo native audiobooks into consideration, you probably still don't need more storage. Unless you're preparing for some sort of end of the civilization scenario, in which case an audiobook library would probably be your least concern. |

From experience over the years, using a µSD card with better small block performance does help. You may remember the discussions a few years back where SanDisk and Samsung were my recommendations since they seemed to have the best overall small block performance. Too many of the high speed SD cards are optimized for video streaming and small block performance sucks.

A2 can mean a lot though. E.g. Sandisk Extreme Pro V30 (UHS-I class) has a read speed of 170 MB/s. Delkin Devices Power V90 UHS-II has read speeds of 300 MB/s.

This is a message from 10 years back where I included test results from 3 different cards. Note especially the differences in the small block write results. |

But what's the difference with these two microSD cards with small files? Those speeds are nowt what I'd expect to get in a Libra 2.
