Post Kindle Scribe own Screensaver pictures
Kindle Scribe JAILBROKEN only!!!

If you want to have your pictures in place of Amazon's Screensaver:

1. Prepare PNG images: SIZE 1860px × 2480px, 16 colours, 72 DPI

2. Name them: bg_ss00.png to bg_ss06.png

3. Copy prepared images on your Kindle Scribe by USB cable.


Use the KOReader browser and copy SELECTED files to the following location:

chroot/usr/share/blanket/screensaver

Most importantly, PNGs must be in 8-bit grayscale, otherwise Kindle might boot loop…

On FW 5.16.2.1.1, when I tried to copy and overwrite the files using KOReader, It says failed to copy. How to enable 'root mode' in KOReader?

Probably? "mntroot rw" > do your overwrite, copy... > "mntroot ro".

Thanks So I type "mntroot rw" into the terminal simulator and do the overwrite and finally "mntroot ro"?

I tried to cp and chmod -R +w for the destination folder. same error message and it wont allow me to modify anything.
