some additional context for people unaware: During the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Open Library made a pretty big blunder. Since other libraries were mostly shut down and their books inaccessible, they decided, for some time, to allow unlimited simulteaneous borrows for each physical copy they held.
I remember at the time thinking it was a noble idea but a very stupid idea considering that somebody would object. Alas, here we are. |

Here the ebook lending boomed when the libraries closed. The Librarians WFH issuing PINs for Borrowbox when people emailed their library card details.
