Cozy mysteries without murder
Sometimes the amount of bodies piling up starts to feel a bit ridiculous. So I'm looking for ones with other mysteries— stolen items, missing persons, etc etc.
Google got me a few lists, but several of the ones i looked at weren't available in a digital format. Any suggestions? Last edited by ownedbycats; 12-25-2022 at 05:18 PM. |

The old-time juvenile mystery series generally don't include murder: Nancy Drew, Cherry Ames, Judy Bolton, Vicki Barr, Penny Parker, etc. A few Judy Boltons and Vicki Barrs, as well as Penny Parkers (written by Mildred Wirt, who wrote the first several Nancy Drews) are available at Project Gutenberg. A bunch of Nancys (both original text and revised) are offered at Faded Page.

It's been a while since I read any of this series (and I haven't read the whole series) but my recollection is that at least some of them fit your request:
Isabel Dalhousie series by Alexander McCall Smith They spend a lot of time inside the main character's head, and she thinks a lot, so if you prefer books that have more action than thinking these might not be your cup of tea. |

I've read most of The No. One Ladies Detective Agency series by Alexander McCall Smith and don't recall that there was ever a murder.
