Sad news. I thought The Forgotten Beasts of Eld, in particular, was quite special.

She wrote lyric, ethereal prose. She blazed a trail that many would follow.
Godspeed, Grandmistress! I would not classify the Riddlemaster trilogy as children’s literature. The author played her cards close to the vest, and the trilogy delivers one of the best cliffhangers I’ve ever read. It’s charming and accessible, not childish. It deserves its place in the Fantasy Masterworks collection. |

I was quite saddened when I heard about this. Her writing foray of mixing fairytales and the modern world in her latest books had me very excited to see what she was going to do. Thankfully I can always re-read her books.

I'm so sad. I loved her books. I had always hoped for a sequel to Fools Run which was one of my favorites among Riddlemaster and The Changeling Sea.
