Akihabara?
Hello everybody,
1st time in my life I'll be in Japan (Tokyo/Kyoto/Nara) aince 12 Aug. I dont have any previous experience about it, but do you think there is any probability that the Reader will be available in Akihabara? In alternative - any suggestion about shopping, for an ebook-lover? bye! alessandro |

I am pretty confident that it won't be available by then. Sony's plans are to introduce the Reader first in the US, and then perhaps, at a later stage, in other countries.

I hear there's a truly awsome laser tag place in Tokyo, if you like that sort of thing....

Akihabara? If I remember correctly that's the big electronics marketing district in Tokyo. I am sure that you can check a lot of other gizmos there. See if you can take a look at that Panasonic reader.
I bet the first place that people are going to be able to get the Sony Reader will be the online Style store, then Borders Books (or is that Barnes & Noble? I get those two confused). |

It's only going to be ~200 stores nationwide at first, so mostly the online store I expect. They haven't said what they'll do after the initial roll-out, but I'd guess that they'll allow wider-spread retail sales before too long. |
