Russian to engish dictionary
I am using Calibre on a Surface pro (Windows 10) to study Russian. I would like to be able to get a word translated from Russian to English by hovering over a word, clicking it, etc. Any help on how to do this would be greatly appreciated.

If you have a Calibre question, please ask it in the Calibre forum, to where I'm now moving this thread.

Right click on it (which on a touchscreen is a long tap) and you get an option to look up the word in the dictionary. You can define a russian to english website as the dictionary in the viewer preferences.

Thanks. I tried this and get to the default, wordnik, which consistently says no translation. I then tried loading several other online dictionaries and have only sporadic success. Is it possible to add a dictionary that I have installed on my Surface Pro (Abby Lingvo)?

I have a couple of installed 'dictionaries' (Wordweb and The Sage) that operate this way. They are configured to respond to ctrl+shift+~ and ctrl+shift+! respectively. The advantage of using this approach is that the shortcuts work in ALL applications - browsers, text editors, pdf readers, word processors... and the calibre book viewer BR |
