PE keeps initialising after reroot

I have used the PE since 2012, updated with Allmine and rooted the device. Never had any major problems.
In Z4ROOT I accidently(?) pushed the button reboot and now I have a big problem.

The PE starts initialising and shows 4 dots. Then the lcd screen turns black for a short while and shows the 4 dots again.

I tried to solve the problem:

- pushed the reset button, for a short and for a long period.
both screens turned black and the PE started again initialising till the 4 dots.
- pushed the on/off button to turn the PE off,
the PE immediatly started again...

- left the PE on for a long time untill the led was blinking red, put it in the freezer for a while and the led has been turned off. After a while the led was on again!
- tried the update procedure with USB stick and sd-card. Holding down the menu and rotate button. The PE stated initialising till 2 dots and started again.

Now I am out of ideas how to solve this problem......

UPDATE:

I wrote:I rebooted the PE, instead of REROOTED!!

My PE is alive again. The solution was rather simple: I updated the device with the latest version.
