All Supported Calibre Identifier Tags?

Is there a list of all Calibre's supported identifier tags?

My library uses the following:
  1. amazon
  2. asin
  3. doi
  4. google
  5. isbn
  6. lcn
  7. mobi-asin
  8. uri
Are there others Calibre supports?

thanks

As far as I know you can make up arbitrary ones so there is no definitive list.

Out of the box, I can see the above plus: douban, edelweiss, overdrive, ozon.

The Amazon id also has different country site versions as well.

There are also some metadata source plugins that add them as well. I can see I have ff (Fantastic Fiction), goodreads, fictiondb and barnsandnoble.

And as itmpi said, you can create arbitrary ids. They will show in the tag browser, but not in the details pain.

mobi-asin is not a supported identifier tag, it is an arbitrary one. I mean, yes, calibre creates them when importing a book with an ASIN, but it doesn't map to amzn.com/%s

Yes, this is what I'd like to know: Which are the supported ones that map to the correct URLs when I click the link in the info window (after hitting "I" on that book's entry)?

Geremia,
I believe what you're being told is that you can assign any identifier name and value. It doesn't matter per se. What matters is that if the value portion is a valid URL link, then calibre will honor it when clicked.

So there isn't an approved list, so much as there are a bunch of valid names and values in the field.

There is no approved list. Any metadata download plugin you install can add its own set of identifiers that become links. The builtin set of metadata download plugins convert amazon, google, edelweiss and ISBN identifiers into links.

Oh yeah, doi and arxiv as well for the academically minded.

Both uri and url work, but as they are already fully formed links, I did not mention them.

And there is oclc as well which is a worldcat identifier.

EDIT: Look for the urls_from_identifiers() function to see the list of all non-plugin based identifiers that are converted to links automatically.

Probably because I tried url:www.google.com

I had a vague memory that the extra ":" would throw it off, but I'm probably hallucinating it.

Thanks!

I keep searching for missing identifiers when none are available. Is it possible to add an identifier ("?" or "none") to visibly populate the field with "Unknown" or similar to help my repetitive curiosity?

EDIT: After thinking about it I'm not sure that would work as I'd want it to disappear if another ID came to be. Perhaps what would work best for me is that the identifiers field defaulted to "~ unknown ~" when null. An added identifier would replace it and if the identifiers were deleted it would reappear. Jeez that's asking a lot so perhaps consider for version 10.1.

My experience is in the edit metadata window anything will "take", but only certain things will appear in the main data window inside the data detail portion.

I learned how to find empty identifiers, the issue is I don't know if one is available without a flag. It's a bit awkward but I'm using "avrx:Not Found" and it is working, so I rescind my request. The issue will go away after my library maintenance is complete as I cannot buy an Amazon book in 2012 anymore. The newer books shouldn't be an issue.
