What's a poor adult ebook publisher to do?
Hello all. I'm a new publisher and could use a bit of guidance from someone more experienced.
I've put together a small ebook that contains a bit of "risque" video content. No porn, just a bit of female nudity. I was hoping to offer it for the Kindle, as there's similar content available for download on Amazon. But apparently, and much to my dismay, the only way to sell a multimedia ebook on Amazon is to become part of the beta program for such content and I have it on good authority that only big name publishers are being accepted. Why there are instructions for embedding video in the guidelines if it's not an option for us small fry, I don't know. So I then turned to Apple's iBook store. But because the content is a bit "adult" in nature, I don't think Apple will approve it for sale. Help! Under these circumstances, what's the best option for a selling an adult ebook with video content? • Create the book in different formats? • Bypass the big e-stores and sell on your own site? • Sell just images and text on Amazon and provide a link where purchasers can download video? Folks, any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks! |
