image problems with sigil file with fbreaderj on android
Greetings,
I am trying to make an epub version of WWII reminiscences of my father-in-law. the epub it makes has tiny images in the chapter on Dachau, & I cannot figure out how to make them as large as the screen on my android device. I have played with header tags, height & width on the <img...> line, but no good. I am running Sigil on an ACER netbook running ubuntu lucid. When I tried to make the <img... height="90%"/> the images wouldn't even show up in Sigil. Any help will be appreciated. Bob |

For example: When I try to put h3 headings around the <img...> line or add a width or height as below, it seems to have no effect on the display on the smartphone. The height="90%" command wipes out the picture in Sigil.
<?xml version="1.0"?> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.1//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml11/DTD/xhtml11.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <title></title> </head> <body> <h1 id="heading_id_2">Dachau, including photos</h1> <p>I don’t remember... were SS men who had been arrested and were awaiting possible trial and punishment. This picture</p> <p><img alt="" src="../Images/leepix1.jpg" width="90%" /></p> <p>will give you some idea of what the scene... |

You might look at the css at top of the page in code view. I have had trouble where it says display=block, so you might save a copy aside and then delete anything saying display in the css of the copy and see what you get.
Be aware that if the images are in fact really small, if you succeed in making them bigger they may turn pixelated and jagged. The only cure for that is find another source for bigger images. You might also look at the css for anything regulating the paragraphs, since the picture is in a paragraph <p>. You could alter the css if it is a problem or simply put in a <br/> before and after in lieu of the <p>. |
