The index underwent a format revision in late November 2020 to remove the fields that are extracted from the plug-ins themselves, viz:
the plugin version number (Version:);
the release date (Released:);
the minimum calibre version number (Calibre:);
the author name (Author:);
the History flag (History:);
the platforms supported (Platforms:).
These fields are extracted from the plugin code by the Plugin Updater, they can be seen in calibre's Preferences->Plugins section, and they can be viewed here ==>> Index of calibre plugins. They are also to be found in the first post of most plugin threads.

When you create a new plugin, PM an active calibre moderator to have it included in this list. Note that you must send us all of the information necessary to create the index entry in particular if it is a new plugin. The easiest way is to use the Index Entry Sample substituting the values as appropriate.
It would also make less work for us if you include all other information required to be changed or added as per the plugins below.
Ensure the plugin file is attached to the first post of your thread, and that it has a .zip extension. Do not attach multiple zip files to that post, or there is a risk of automated installation failure.
It is suggested you create an empty second post as a placeholder where any test versions can be uploaded. This avoid having test versions scattered through the thread - when a test version is released it can be removed from the second post.

As the data is scraped from this page, formatting and content of the list items is critical. Do not add new LIST elements to this page unless they contain plugins.
For new plugins I find it easiest just to copy/paste an entire[*] section and replace as required. Note that the name within the URL link should be the internal name of the plugin to be used for automating install/uninstall.
For new plugins, send Kovid a PM asking him to add an entry for the plugin into the calibre change log, that will result in it getting a mention in the What's New for the next calibre release.
For version history to be displayed in the plugin, add a special value of '; History: Yes' to the details for the plugin below. Provided the user's first post contains the text Version History followed by a SPOILER tag containing the history it should be able to be displayed by the Plugin Updater.
For deprecated plugins a special value of "; Deprecated: Yes" should be added to the plugin details. In addition, move the entire list item entry down to the bottom of the forum index page. Change the description to indicate the reason for deprecation and any instructions that should appear in the UI.
After updating this page, you should fire up the plugin updater to ensure it can read it. You can use calibre-debug -g to see which entries are not being parsed correctly if issues occur.
