That is how you install a new system AFAIK.
There's no checks, so it's easy to brick it with that, though. However, it'll always work it seems, so you can easily install a new system and unbrick it.

Yep, but you still need to have a firmware install SD card, if by mistake you boot with this keypress during vacation with a SD card inserted, you will brick your device.. and can't do nothing until you came back to home
