Mobipocket Format for Sony ?

Hi All.

Sorry for asknig this for I'm sure its been covered or that I otherwise lack commonsense... but getting hold of my Sony 700 in days...

Can anyone advice if both Sony eBook Library and the Sony 700 eReader device can read MobiPocket Format books ?

If not otherwise, are there ways to go around this?

Thanks

No. The Sony PRS-700 can read LRF, LRX (which is secure LRF), ePub, PDF.

Yes. Calibre (available here at MR) can convert non-DRMed mobi to LRF or ePub.

Thanks !

Can you advice on the difference between a Adobe EPUB eBook and a Adobe PDF eBook for use on the 700 ?

I am considering buying someboooks without Sony's eLibrary system..and the best fit I can find is the Adobe PDF format (vs. Microsoft, MobiPockets etc)... would I be able to do everythnig (highlight, note taking, Zoom, Word Sizing...) on the Sony 700 using the PDF format?

Thanks !

ePub books will generally look a lot better than PDF books.

The people working with OpenInkpod are developing a version of this OS for the Sony.

Now it permits reading non DRM Mobipocket documents in the Halin and clones, so… keep an eye on their part of the forum for news.
