You can use google docs to translate images. It says some stuff about their company and then there are specs sheet which says:

It is impressive that there is no mouse cursor shadow anymore, the refresh rate seems really great!

There is a lot of confusion about it on the web (I blame Dasung's poor marketing skills, they could learn a thing or two from e.g. Remarkable) but there will be 2 models: one with Pearl and one with Carta screen.

On their website one with Pearl has already sold out! From what I understand Pearl with ship in a month or so and Carta edition within 3 months.

The price difference between two is negligible (100 yuan) and based on big difference between Onyx Max and Max Carta I think it is worth the wait.

The price without taxes is around $720 which is a believe ok (no e-reader functionality though). We'll have to wait for some reviews first, but it is looking very solid!

I'm writing this on Paperlike which has no mouse cursor shadow in A5 mode. Wonder how much improvement it will practically show, given Mobius screen is technically an early Carta screen with flexible substrate (correct me if I'm wrong)? Displaying Windows Metro interface without any optimization is impressive but any serious user of this product, I'm sure, is minimizing sliding effects.

I'm disappointed they couldn't manage to mass-produce Pro with the newer 2200x1650 screen.

edit: Plus, waiting for a demo with HDMI connection...

So how does one buy or at least pre-order the new Paperlike Pro from Europe or US?

EDIT: $1000 is a bit steep but if the new Paperlike Pro truly is plug and play HDMI then this would be a big step forward for e-ink monitors.

The old http://dasung.com/english looks obsolete. Instead, go to dasung.com (which should display Chinese), click English on the top right, and you get http://www.dasungtech.com/

With the early bird discount it's $899 which could be paid on Paypal. There's still markup from the Yuan price but they seem to *help alleviate tariffs* if you divide your payments into two. That got me into buying one.

But they're totally different devices...
Dasung is a screen with HDMI and the Sony is a kind a tablet (without HDMI)
