Comics PDF to CBZ

Hi,

Is it possible to convert PDF comics to cbz using calibre ?
I've found several threads talking about cbz to pdf conversion but not the reverse.

Alternatively, is it possible to insert metadata in the pdf comics ?

There are many freely available tools that can extract images from pdf files. Just use one of them, the zip up the images and change the file extension to cbz and there you go.

And you can set any metadata that calibre supports in PDF files, whether you can get any other program to recognize that metadata is a whole other can of worms.

I have 750 of those files ...
If I were to batch convert them, is there a way to add them in calibre and automatically merge them with the corresponding pdf ?

Assuming they have correct title and author metadata then you can use the automerge options in Preferences->Adding books

Btw, I found a very quick way to convert pdf comics to cbz very very quickly.

Using comicrack software. I copy all the pdf to a single dir using calibre, opened the directory in comicrack, selected all the files, right click-> export to cbz ... 5 minutes later 750 pdf where replaced by 750 cbz ....

1 glitch though : many cbz had the cover page as the last page after conversion, so I had to extract all the files, and made a bath that renamed the last page as page00000
