Comments in the Cover Browser?

Hi all,

is it possible to see the Comments (or any metadata for that matter) in the Cover Browser? For example, while hovering the mouse over the cover?

Select Cover (in center)
Tap 'I'

Have you tried Grid View? IMHO nicer than the older, Cover Browser

I don't know if I understand you correctly, but when I have Browse by covers in full screen mode, nothing happens when I tap 'I'?

No, you cannot see other metadata. IMO having tooltips in the cover browser would look pretty ugly.

@Plaquard - - what do you see if you right click the 'centre' cover, I see a menu

What happens if you select 'Show book details'

You might also want to check Preferences->Keyboard->Show book details

Yes, when I right click the menu pops up and I can choose show book details, but I thought it would be pretty neat if e.g. comments would show up without the need of a a new window. But I guess not everybody would find that useful though.

@Plaquard : - click the brown book bottom left corner to display book details, if you don't want them in the right sidebar, set in Preferences->Look and Feel->User Interface layout to Narrow, do a restart and they'll be under the carousel - with no need to click anything.

Well I thought the above would be OK. But it doesn't work as I expected, the 'carousel' gets moved to the right sidebar. I'm not sure how its supposed to work but IMO that configuration (narrow and full screen carousel) is a bit odd - in terms of what it does.

But it works OK with User Interface layout set to Wide, the book details will be displayed on the right. You can control what columns get displayed in the Preferences->Look and Feel->Book Details tab...

I(nformation) has all the metadata
And it has
a previous/Next button

Think of it as a One-Up cover browser

If you have a lot of custom columns, and you have a lo res screen, the comments may not be visible in the Book Information panel because they are always placed last.

If the Book Details panel appeared under the carousel when in Narrow mode, as I assumed it would, then the OP could deselect all the not-required columns in Look & Feel.

I also note that Brown Book and Black Arrow icons swap positions when Narrow mode is selected - which is also a bit odd.
