Epub styles question
Dear you guys,
I found in some epub reader (FB reader, etc.) there is a setting for styles in case the provided css is chosen to be ignored. I understand some only. 1) Regular Paragraph 2) Epub paragraph (xhmtl tag content) 3) Title 4) Section Title 5) Subtitle 6) Heading 1 to 6 (I know this means <h1> to <h6> 7) Annotation 8) Epigraph 9) Author 10) Poem Title 11) Stanza 12) Verse 13) Cite (probably this means <cite>) 14) Internal Hyperlink 15) External Hyperlink 16) Footnote 17) Italic, Emphasis, Bold, Strong (I know these mean <i>, <em>, <b>, <strong>) 18) Definition 19) Definition Description 20) Preformatted Text 21) Code (problably this means <code>) 22) Striketrhough (<s>) 23) superscript, subscript (, ) 24) Image (<img>) 25) Date ======== The reader provides setting to format these things, but if I just set <p class="title"> it is only seen as a paragraph rather than "Title". |

FBReader is crap. It ignores too much and is rather worthless to test ePub.

Dear @JSWolf,
To my experience, no android app provides all the features that I need (adequate display of css, page margin minimization, popup). However, regarding displaying well css tags, I think Google Play Book, FB Reader, Prestigio do a good job. FB Reader and Prestigio even allows me to minimize page margin (Google Play Book doesn't). But none of these supports popup footnote Moon+ Pro supports popup footnote. I love this feature. But it is weak in css display (even margin values are ignored). I don't know what are ignored in FBreader, the css I used is rather simple. Ah, when I dig in Prestigio setting, it also has the same "default styles" as FBreader. Maybe they are brothers. |

Find an Android app that uses RMDSK (ADE). That should work pretty well.

I'm not sure what you're trying to do. Are you formatting a book for publication, or are you just trying to improve the rendering of an existing book?
If the former, I'd suggest you settle on a simple style sheet that works across most if not all e-readers. You're welcome to borrow mine from my blog at http://notjohnkdp.blogspot.com |
