Search Notes

Is there a provision for searching notes in Calibre?

Thank you.

In the kindle, or standard pdf documents, notes are like bookmarks with the ability to jot down some additional text, thus, a note. This comes in handy especially with text books and code books. With std. pdf docs, I can search my notes for text I left behind in the pdf. But I'm wondering if Calibre can do the same. Kindle only shows the list of notes, but you cannot search their text.

There are a couple of optional plugins you could look at here:

Index of Plugins (list with descriptions), sticky by kiwidude.

I don't know if these plugins have search capability or not, since I don't use them: Annotations. Sony PRS-T1 Notes. May be others too.

I've used Annotations plugin. It can import notes from the Kindle, Marvin (iOS app) and Goodreader (iOS app) and stores it as a custom column in calibre. Once it's just text in a custom column, you can search for it.

I believe someone is trying to create support for Kobo as well.
