Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) and e-ink Kindle
Hi,
I've got access to some German libraries: http://www.onleihe.net/ which all use Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) DRM for ebooks. Is there any way to read such ebooks on an e-ink Kindle device (Paperwhite)? Does there exist any additional piece of software (for Kindle Paperwhite), e.g. "KOReader", "CoolReader 3", "kindlepdfviewer", which supports Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) DRM for ebooks? Thanks in advance, Best regards, Pepe. Last edited by pepe_alter_ego; 11-29-2013 at 03:30 PM. |

No, the Kindle is definitely the wrong device for use with the abominable ADE.

Calibre can convert them to Kindle format and Apprentice Alf can remove the DRM, if you are comfortable with that. We cannot discuss the details on this site.

But, if you remove the DRM, you don't need ADE.

AFAIR the Apprentice is not into offering DRM removal from library books. |

If it were using a different DRM scheme, there would be no need for ADE.

Indeed! The only legitimate use of the Apprentice is for freeing your own books to use how you wish... not to check out library books and then get around the loan restrictions.
