What to do with your old paper books
Here's an idea for your now superfluous physical books. Very clever artwork created from books!

There are a raft of sites for "altered books" on the web, but those are really outstanding!

Simple- Fahrenheit 451
Actually I used to rip up the big novels that I read: ie. War and Peace as I read them. I never liked carrying a huge book around. So, once read it was dead to me. Shocked some of my friends in Moscow, but hey now I do not have to with ebooks, plus I have War and Peace in ebook form compliments of PG. Quote:

since I'm not going to re-buy what i have (esp at these prices...) I'm keeping mine as a proof that my digitized copies are legal.

The biggest reason I'm digitizing my books is I won't have room for them when I move into smaller digs (a travel trailer) in a year or two. Besides, I have to destroy the book to scan it so there isn't anything to keep except a pile of pages.

My paper books?
They are in my will. They will be used to open the "Recluse Memorial Horror Library". I have the building plans already. Once construction is completed after my demise, all will be welcome. Bring a shovel. When you reach the door, knock. If I don't answer, feel free to wait. |

I like the ideaof Book crossings . Usually every so often I leave a bag of books outside on the garden wall . I will also donate to the local charity shop or give to friends . I hardly ever buy Pbk books now.
