Exclamation Free (DRM-free PDF) Shattered Daughter, Missing Family by Liz Strange [LGBT Mystery]

Missing Daughter, Shattered Family by Liz Strange is the 1st in the David Lloyd Investigations mystery/suspense series, free courtesy of publisher MLR Press, which says in a blurb icon that this was a 2011 finalist for the Indie Lit Awards.

All Romance eBooks gives it 4 flames on the heat index, but going by the synopsis, the sample, and the reader comments on both ARE and Amazon which specifically say there's no on-screen sex in it, this is basically a straightforward sleuthy suspense mystery with essentially non-prominent romance elements, so that could just be that annoying North American societal habit of automatically trying to class everything even remotely "gay" as automatically being overly sex-filled erotic content by its very nature and needing the "KIDS DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME" label slapped on to it at all times, regardless of reality.

Free for who knows how much longer directly in DRM-free PDF @ MLR Press' website (right-click/save-as on the link under little book icon at the top of the page).

Meant to post this earlier, but it slipped my mind and they rotate these things approximately monthly, so hopefully you can still pick it up.

Description
When a brutal homophobic attack ended David Lloyd's career as a police officer, his life was changed forever. Five years later David is running his own private detective agency, where a missing person's case comes to his attention. Digging into the circumstances of her disappearance forces David to realize he has not dealt with what happened to him, and that he can no loner deal with his long-time partner's fear of being honest about their relationship.

Solving the case might not only bring peace to a shattered family, but could finally put David's own demons to rest.
