Calibre work with two different devices?

I've had a Nook "Classic" for a couple of years, and I just bought a Nook Tablet. I've love using Calibre, and was wondering if it will support both devices somehow. I want to the epub-epub conversion to get all my sideloaded books onto the Tablet, but my wife is going to use the "Classic", so I want to be able to load books for her in the future as well. How do I do this?

Unless we're talking heavily image laden books like comics the ePubs that work on your Nook classic will work equally well on your tablet. There is no need to do a subsequent conversion.

Just connect the devices; Calibre will recognize both of them (the Tablet in version 0.8.27 and later) and do your normal Send To Device.

Just don't connect them both at the same time, *that* won't work.

The core Calibre is device agnostic - just plug the device in and it works.

However, you might want to look into the Reading List plugin. This allows you to maintain 'per device' lists of books to be synced to each device. Very useful if you want different books on the different devices (although you can still add any specific book to the lists for both device).

The epub-epub conversion is for the covers. I've tried this on a few now and most of the time the covers don't show on the library screen if you haven't done the conversion. I sideloaded all of the Jan Karon books, and only converted the first in the series, and it was the only one that showed a cover. Also, I sideloaded a Matthew Rielly book without converting, no cover, then removed it, converted, re-sideloaded and it had a cover.
