Lost my Kindle 3 :(
I was on the United's flight from DC to LAX yesterday. I almost finished reading the Star Trek: Typhon Pact: Zero Sum Game, when we were told to "turn off all devices with an on-off switch." When we landed at 12:00 am I put the Kindle in the large pocket inside my coat (DC was rather cold). I did not think about it until yesterday's evening. I searched everything, the car, the bag, the coat... The Kindle is gone. I've been calling various lost-and-founds, so far without success.
I am in mourning. My PRS-500 was lost/stolen a couple of years ago. My desktop died a couple of months ago. My two-year-old daughter broke the screen on my six-months-old laptop a week ago. And now this ... |

so sad, hope whoever finds it checks the owner info on the unit or gives Amazon a call. There are more honest people than dishonest ones. Good luck

Osnova, I feel your pain.
Did you have contact info on your Kindle so that perhaps the finder can return it? |

Bummer. That's the problem with the kindle being so small and light. You sometimes forget about it.

oh so sorry!!!! I hope you find it soon! I thought I had lost my Kindle this summer and was in such a bad situation that I ordered a replacement within hours of thinking it was lost. it turned up, so I ended up giving the "lost" one to my son

Thank you, all, for support. I hope my story will have the same ending as Kindlekitten's.

I was devastated as my Kindle broke down, so I can imagine your distress on losing it. Good luck.

Deregister your kindle ASAP because of the risk of buying books with your account.

That's a bummer.
Would be nice if the Kindle Screensavers had a spot for a name and phone number on them. I know you can enter info in the Kindle but is someone unfamiliar with it really going to take the time and search around for that info? Hope it turns up! |

I'm sorry to hear that, Osnova, I hope it turns up! Did you contact Amazon about your loss? Is it possible for someone to rack up your credit card using your Kindle?
