Not that I know of but there really isn't that much she needs to learn though. Once it is all setup and registered to an account, you don't need to mess with the settings page.

JirkaS: I'd like to see Czech localization too. My wife and daughter doesn't know English too.
I thing that Amazon should get out some localization tool and how too. My opinion is that some people are intend to participate in localization Kindle in their local language. |

~help after ;debugOn does mention a ~changeLocale command, but I didn't manage to do anything with it (refuses even locale "C"). There might be a way to install a locale after a jailbreak, but that seems to be much trouble. It might be an indication of plans to internationalise from Amazon though; was the option there on K2 ?

I looked thru the code here (Kindle2), but there is no obvious datafile which could be localized. Any other idea?

It is possible. All text strings (excluding buttons-images) is in jar files.
You can translate it using "In Class Translator" program. And then using jailbreak, apply changes to Kindle. Russian language: http://www.the-ebook.org/forum/viewt...er=asc&start=0 |

@Mountain King,
I can send translation files (simple text files) to you. Once you translate it, I can make update file for K3 in your language. |

Awesome work you did there, nice to see some other language support for Kindle 3. I would love to make a German translation of Kindle 3, would you send me the localization files? Thanks a lot. |

How much text is there to translate?
Could I have a text file... I can do the dutch translation. If it is not a lot of work If you add another language could it be made into a setting? Like ~exec dutch and ~exec english or ~exec restore to go back to default. |
