At 2:15 PM Eastern Standard time, 29 degrees Celsius here in sub-tropical Queensland, Australia, with a gentle sea breeze from the South Pacific
I live about fourteen kilometres from the east coast If this is not paradise then it must be very close to it ! |

Temps have been unusually (abnormally!) high for the past week, but when it wasn't raining it was so foggy I couldn't see my own back yard, so I couldn't really enjoy it. It's raining again tonight -- with a chance of sleet/snow -- as the temperature returns to a more wintry range.
But it's supposed to be sunny by Thursday! |

We are looking at light snow and (more problematically) ice down here in Charlotte tonight. At least now working for a university, i get the benefits of closings and delays.

That's pretty much what we're looking at tonight. The bad thing is that it's been announced that the rain will prevent the salting of roadways prior to the early morning snow.
That, and rain, rain, rain, rain, rain and more rain. |

Rain here too currently - apparently for NC - it's a race between the arrival of the cold front & the moving out of the rain - if the cold front gets here first, we'll get significant snow. If the rain largely exits first, we'll get a dusting. Temps went up overnight into the 50's, so the road surfaces are relatively warm.
