The media write about what they get paid to write about -- and nobody pays better than Apple.

Not sure why you guys are so adamant that you are right, and Apple is wrong. Different needs for different people. It doesn't suit your needs? Totally fine. Being relentlessly snotty towards a company, a CEO, and a product (and by extension, towards users of that product) just shows a lack of maturity, and a lack of perspective. Just a tablet, guys. Try to be a little less childish when we are trying to discuss it. |

Not sure what you are mocking-you have some better idea what they should have sold? (I certainly don't...I don't even know how many they had available for sale, or what their goals were).

This thread is about the RIM Playbook. There are some important take-aways from RIM's decision to release a half-baked Playbook at this time. What is going on in the consumer tablet market that forced RIM's hand? Why are companies who had been designing their tablet offerings for a few years prior, announced their plans in early 2010 but then ended up scrapping them in light of the iPad's debut... and still haven't produced a solid viable alternative... a year later? Why are the sample people who dismissed the iPad as nothing more than an oversized iPod now clamoring for tablets that are nothing more than oversized Android handsets? Why were these companies caught so flat-footed? You and everyone else who will claim that it is Apple's pixie dust sprinkled on lemming consumers can refrain from replying. |

They aren't. In the Android world most were waiting on Honeycomb, though some have moved ahead anyway with pre-honeycomb os, but even it is more of an os than iOS.

That's a total non-sequitor. You want to try that in English? |

1. Mobile flash is still hit and miss on the best mobile hardware. It's just not ready for primetime. Thats why... 2. All the important sites have a iOS app (Youtube, Pandora, etc...) 3. There are alternatives to the SD card or people just don't need it. People said the same thing about the iPhone. Still no SD card, and people are still buying it in huge numbers. You overestimate its importance. |
