Honestly, all of this was hacky kludges I've abandoned long ago. YMMV!

You can redo the keyboard using the Kobo patches for a given firmware version. That works and as long as the patch in available for new firmware versions will continue to work.

Did you try this keyboard JSWolf?
Just curious which devices are not working. Also for this binary: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...0&postcount=10 |

The latest keyboard patches are for the latest firmware and available here. https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=356106 You can pick a keyboard and edit it it one of them is not what you want. The keyboard patches are in the file libnickel.so.1.0.0.yaml. Last edited by JSWolf; 11-20-2023 at 02:01 PM. |

It's an attempt to create a user input system with keyboard for standalone apps independent of Nickel...a shenanigan of sorts. |

Well, this shenanigans is not supported and there's a chance that with some new firmware it won't work or may bollocks the works.

But in all seriousness, there is always that risk. People should keep backups, in case DNSB gets tired of bailing them out.Edit: That's from the simplistic perspective of having a cheap Clara HD with easily removable internal SD card storage. Others have a more complicated risk/reward balance, such as soldered in storage: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...7&postcount=31 DNSB's tip for getting FCC photo of internals without "cracking" open the case: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...71&postcount=5 And if I had a pricier Libra 2 and found the SD card too heavily glued on to wiggle out without damage, maybe I would also be more careful about engaging in any shenanigans. Better to let others try it first... Last edited by elinkser; 11-26-2023 at 09:43 AM. |
