The only thing IQ is, is a score on a particular test, it has nothing to do with how smart or stupid a person is. |

IQ tests do in fact correlate well with intelligence, or at least a particular kind of intelligence. In particular, abstract reasoning and symbolic reasoning. There is good evidence that the consistent increase in IQ scores over several decades does, in fact, indicate a rise in general intelligence.

Unsurprising. As someone who straddles the line between millennial and whatever generation is called before millennial this comes is absolutely no surprise. We are inundated with video and audio advertising so much that we really just want to get what we want to get out of something. Not be sold to.

Greatest Generation (WWII vets): 1901-1924 [coined by Tom Brokaw] Silent Generation: 1925-1945 Baby Boomers: 1946-1964 Generation X: 1965-1982 Millenials/Generation Y: 1982-2004 Generation Z: 2005-present Of course, those are only approximations, always a couple of years leeway on each end, mainly depending on how one feels about themselves. |

I happen to be a millenial with no cell phone, facebook, twitter, or instagram.
And no I dont live in a cave and sneak my way into the library at night to post on this forum. The most curious thing about this is, other than the onion and daily show, I dont know of many millenials interested in news. Of course there are excpetions. But in my observation most millenials initially learn of news from some source other than news. For example twitter trends and instagram memes leading to further investigation. I dont think this is generational, but more of a coming to age thing. |

I like multimedia when it compliments the words. Unfortunately, much of the multimedia is gratuitous or offensive. For instance, I'd rather see highlights of a football game that read a description of the game and I'd rather watch an interview than read it, but I don't need to see someone standing in front of the home of a victim reading me the story. Don't go by me, though -- I'd rather watch a good movie in an easy chair with immersive audio on a huge TV than read the book.
